Omrani Clay Architectural Complex
This deserted village is located in the 20th km on the north of the city of Gonabad on the Gonabad-Mashhad Road and adjacent to the police station. Regarding the evidences, this place belongs to Saljuk era up to the Safavid era, which was inhabited by about 40 years ago and eventually abandoned by droughts. At present, Omrani village enclosed in tall clay and brick walls has been partially destroyed but still some public buildings such as water storage, mosques, bathrooms and caravanserai have remained. Passages and alleys are also recognizable, and windbreaks are seen above the roofs. Omrani deserted village is a model of a desert village. The remarkable point in this village is the elements and space that residents have made for their adaptation to the warm climate of desert.
