Gonabad Qasabeh Qanat

Qasaba Qanat of Gonabad is one of the most astonishing manmade phenomena and a symbol of human’s conformity with nature. 
This 33 km long Qanat, consists of two major threads named Qasaba and Doulab. Doulab thread is divided into old and new threads and has an overall number of 472 shafts. 
digging such a large canal into a depth of more than 300 meters and excavation of a volume of more than 73 million cubic meters 300 meters beneath the ground, without the slightest error along the routes or in sloping at the Achaemenid empire, is an outstanding unique experience all over the world. 
This amazing Qanat, dating back to at least 2500 years ago, possesses one of the highest water levels among Qanats of Iran and has a constant water flow during the year.
